What is a triathlon?

A triathlon is a multi-sport endurance event consisting of three main events: swimming, cycling, and running; one following the other over various distances. Triathletes compete for fastest overall course completion time, including timed "transitions" between the individual swim, bike, and run components. A 'typical' race distance is a 400m swim, 10km bike and 5km run followed by a cup of tea.

Transition areas are positioned both between the swim and bike segments (T1), and the bike and run segments (T2), and are usually just one checkpoint, especially in shorter courses. They’re the equivalent of a pit stop. These areas are also used to store bikes and racing equipment (like running shoes) necessary for the next stage of the race >

> Triathlon is an endurance sport that requires focused preparation and training in each of the three disciplines, as well as workouts and general strength conditioning to get to peak condition before race day. Being proficient in each of the 3 events is usually not enough to win and joining a good Triathlon Club is often essential. If you would like to
